Peregrine (A767795-D SN)
One of the core worlds of the Earth Alliance, Peregrine is almost a twin to Earth. It is slightly smaller but it has a denser core, with a gravity only slightly less than Earth. While the indigenous fauna wasn't anything to write home about, the mineral wealth of the planet and the asteroid belt helped to make Peregrine one of the most powerful manufacturing worlds in the core worlds.
Peregrine was colonized in 2156 by a consortium of corporations and third world countries. The twelve major corporations that sponsored the colonization have merged, dissolved, and changed since the first days, leaving six gigantic corporations with dozens of minor companies and hundreds of tiny corporations vying for profit. The Board of Six is the ruling body of Peregrine, made up of the CEOs of the six biggest corporations.
There is a naval base on Peregrine but it is mainly a supply depot for the manufactured goods of the planet to be shipped to the Earth Alliance Navy. The Earth Alliance Scout base, on the other hand, is one of the largest in the core worlds. The scout base houses an extensive school and training facility, as well as a major supply depot for Scout ships. SolMet still builds the big ships that the Scouts and the Navy need, but Peregrine manufactures a lot of the little stuff.
For the people at the top and the people that work for the people on the top, life on Peregrine is fine. If you are one of the workers, you live in fear of being one of the nonworkers trying to survive on the edges of society. Life within the corporate parks and gated communities is fine but the areas outside can be dangerous.
For those that can afford it, Peregrine has some of the best cybernetic/body modification facilities in the core worlds.
