The Rhiada setting has many powerful beings who could be considered gods. Many of them are referred to as gods by the average denizen of Rhiada. However, there are no beings who fit the standard D&D definition of a god. None has divine ranks, for example, not do they have salient divine abilities. The beings most people think of as gods are simply more powerful versions of extraplanar entities. Examples include Devas, Eladrin (Archfey), Demons, Devils, Elemental Lords, etc....
The Church of Light
The Lords of Light are powerful beings, equivalent to Arch-Angels. These beings serve the divine force of Celestia, associated with Life, Order and Good. Initiates of the Church of Light are taught to draw on the power of Celestia to prepare spells.
The doctrine of the faith is that each person is on a journey towards enlightenment and ascension. Once a being has achieved this transcendent state, he or she becomes a celestial lightbringer and joins what is known as the Radiant Chorus.
Some ascended beings are able to influence the mundane world and help guide others on the path to ascension.
The Medani Church
The Medani Church worships the Lady of Fate, the Lord of Order and the Lords of the 12 Houses. These beings are much like standard D&D deities, save that they are somewhat closely tied to the elements (and of course they lack divine ranks and salient abilities).
Priests of the Medani Church must choose a divine patron from among the Lords of the 12 Houses (the Lady of Fate and the Lord of Order do not have priesthoods associated with them). Each patron offers one or more elemental domains, as well as 2-3 other domains depending on their portfolios. Even the Medani Priests understand that the Lords of the 12 Houses are gatekeepers to the divine power sources in their portfolio rather than the source of that power.
The Druidic Church
The Druids of Rhiada serve the Omphalos (the force of life and balance), the spirits of the world and the Archfey. Their power flows from the Omphalos itself.
The Great Maker
The Great Maker is a powerful being, much like those in the Medani Pantheon. He and his family represent the powers of Earth, Mining, Artifice, Order, Community, Fire, Protection, Strength and the other virtues of the Dweirish folk.
Few non-dweir are ever accepted as initiates of the Great Maker, but those who do must adopt the Dweirish way of life completely.
The Vanir and Cimbry
The Vanir and Cimbry of the Far North worship their own pantheon of deities who are most likely the Aelfir (Eladrin). Their gods are constantly at war with the Jotuns (Titans of Frost and Fire) whose mortal offspring can be found at the corners of the world, as well as with the Trolls and Fomorians. They are sometimes allied with the Firbolg.
