The Calendar
Karthis uses the Calendar of Rhuvandry to track time within a year. Based on the movement of the moons and the apparent motion of the sun, this calendar is used throughout most of the western world. The 365 day calendar is divided into 4 seasons and 12 months. Different cultures use different names for the months, but Rhuvandry chose simple numerical names. The months each contain 30 days, and there are liminal days that stand between the months at the start of each season.
Week
A week is officially 8 days, the time it takes the moon Omphale to go through its phases. It is divided into two halves, each beginning with a holiday and including three work days. The first half of the week is considered lucky, and the second half unlucky.
A Note on Omphale
Omphale doesn't go through phases like Selene does. It brightens and dims, instead. On Darkmoon, Omphale is barely visible as a dark, almost black disk hovering over Lake Hali. On Fullmoon it is a bright, rosy disk that shines with as much light as Selene despite its much smaller size. Treat the phases listed above as how much light the moon gives off (3/4, 1/2, 1/4 the full amount).
