I am currently torn between a Nyrond specific region to begin play. I have three choices listed below as a starting location. If you have any preference, let me know in a reply. This will mainly affect the first few storylines. Later stories will range throughout Nyrond and beyond.
Southwest Nyrond (near the Celadon Forest and the Gnatmarsh)
This region allows for stories involving the bandits of the Gnatmarsh and the Celadon forest, as well as dealing with the repercussions of two generations of barons who have ruthlessly exploited the woods to the point of alienating the elves and foresters in the woods.
Northern Nyrond
This region allows for stories involving agents of the Theocracy of the Pale, cross border raiders from the Bandit Kingdoms and the repercussions of the brutally oppressive policies of the previous baron. (The current baron is trying to make things right, but his father's legacy hangs over him and his efforts).
Old Almor
With the end of the Greyhawk Wars and the annexation of much of Old Almor by Nyrond, the border is now secure. However, agents of Ahlissa, wandering bands of undead soldiers and fiends left over from the war make the region very dangerous.

I am learning towards Northern Nyrond. I like the Theocracy of the Pale as adversaries. I also like the Bandit Kingdoms.

I would also put in a vote for Northern Nyrond and the politics and advesaries of the Theocracy.
