The year is 1345CR (1370DR), and starts on the holiday of Greengrass, the first day of spring. The winter was cold, but dry, and the festival is a welcome chance for the local populace to gather with friends.
Espar is detailed very well in Volo's Guide to Cormyr, and that supplement is surprisingly accurate.
Feel free to use the Realms Pantheon listed in the Player's Handbook.
I'm also going to rely less on mapped out combat encounters, running things in a ToM manner. Tactical (full-on battle map) encounters will be limited to those encounters that would be considered major action sequence in a motion picture.
I'm also considering not using the standing action points rule we've been using, instead, using the existing 5E rules for inspiration, to compensate. I plan to be fairly generous with this, so feel free to play it up.

When I run 5e, I do not use action points - only inspiration.
What is ToM?

ToM- theater of the mind. In other words, Old School.

I have never heard this term before. I wonder why people don't just say Old School if that's what they mean? Theater of the Mind sounds kinda artsy-fartsy to grognards like me. My preference is no miniatures or battlemats, ever, period, end of discussion. But I'll do whatever the GM wants to do. Just don't expect me to like it IMNSHO, using toys at the table makes everything much, much slower. YMMV
