Linden Caine,
Half-elf, male, rogue 1
Linden Caine is of average height with an athletic build. His pointed ears combined with a well-groomed goatee point to his elf-blood nature. His clothes, while well-made, have started to look a little threadbare and tattered.
A scribe and cartographer by trade, Linden spent many years copying maps and texts of various chapbooks and tomes. He read of many adventurers and explorers. These stories and tales drove Linden to want to experience life beyond the written word. Taking his small nest egg to buy some gear, Linden is hitting the road to have some adventures of his own.

.
.
This is all just a cover. Linden is a thief and a forger. He grew up on the streets of Suzail. A common pick pocket, Linden operated with a small gang of thieves and scoundrels called the Torch Street Rats. His young life was filled with many lows and too few highs. The leader of the Rats was a man named Tasker. He had noticed that Linden could read and he had better than average writing skills. He pushed Linden to study the arts of forgery. He also saw potential in the young elf-blood and helped him to refine his image. Linden was able to get a job at a scrivener’s shop. There he could pass information on to Tasker about important legal deals, business arrangements, and wills. Unfortunately, Tasker acted on the wrong person’s information. He was found burned to death in his basement. Three other members of the Torch Street Rats were also killed by fire. Linden knew it was time to leave town. Assuming the persona of an adventure seeking scribe, he booked passage on a wagon train and he has landed in Espar.
