I found this little nugget of information in the last paragraph on page 105 (6E2).
If a Stunned character takes any STUN or BODY from an attack on a Phase that he was going to recover from being Stunned, he cannot recover from being Stunned on that Phase; he must try to recover from being Stunned on his next Phase.
For example, The Spectre (SPD 4, DEX 20) and Bugman (SPD 4, DEX 13) are fighting against the Elder Worm (SPD 6, DEX 25). On Segment 6, the Elder Worm Stuns both of them with a massive strike of his tail. On Segment 8 DEX 25, the Elder Worm spits a glob of flesh-devouring mucus at the Stunned Bugman and lashes out with his tail at the Stunned Spectre. Bugman’s exoskeleton resists the mucus and takes no damage at all from the attack. Spectre’s combat armor does not block all of the damage from the tail. On Segment 8 DEX 20, Spectre cannot recover from being Stunned as he took damage this Segment. On Segment 8 DEX 13, Bugman recovers from being Stunned.
