Emrys d’Cannith Male, human (dragonmarked), artificer. Cyran survivor
Emrys grew up in a House Cannith facility in Metrol. When his dragonmark manifested, his training was accelerated in the art of artifice. He had just finished learning the basics when he was chosen to go a Cannith warforged facility for additional training. Even though the caravan was heavily protected, it was ambushed by non-Cyran forces. A direct hit from a siege staff hit the wagon he was riding in, wounding him, and knocking him unconscious.
He woke up in a Thrane camp as a prisoner of war. As he was identified as a dragonmarked member of House Cannith, he was placed with other dragonmarked prisoners. While he was recovering from his wounds, the Day of Mourning happened. When he was eventually released, he went to the dead grey mist wall that surrounded what was once Cyre. He, and other Cryans, walked the border for miles. He was called to a House Cannith facility in Breland for debriefing. After a while, he was released and buried himself in simple tinkering at a Cannith facility.
One day he was going through his old valise and found information about Cannith facilities in what was now Darguun. Gathering his tools and belongings, he headed off to Sterngate.

Emrys is average height and build. He has long black hair, worn loose when he is not working in a shop. He has brown eyes with gold flecks. His left ear cartilage, the upper curve, is torn and he wears a copper ear cuff over it. He still likes to dress in the Cyran style although he does not eschew bright colors like some Cyrans. There are two constants to his attire: gloves and some type of lapel adornment like a flower or simple brooch.
While some people like to portray artifice as steampunk, I like the imagery of the Goa’uld from Stargate. I will try to be consistent with my descriptions involving my artifice magic.

There were many House Cannith workshops and holdings lost during the Day of Mourning in Cyre. There were also several workshops and holdings lost in the Southern region of Cyre, in what is now Darguun, during the uprising of the goblinoid mercenaries under King Haruuc 35 years ago. While some of these holding have been returned to House Cannith as a show of good faith, some of the more secretive labs are still unaccounted for. You have heard rumors that a prototype creation forge was established at one such secret location somewhere under the Seawall Mountains and that from the last report by the head artificer it had just begun producing war materials when it was overrun. Mormesk d'Cannith was the artificer in charge of the project and was known for blending specialized metals and enchantments keyed to defeating the undead and minions of Khyber. His works were highly sought after by the Knights of the Silver Flame.
