Rime of the Frostmaiden call for characters, but not yet.
When John is finished with his story, we will be jumping into Rime of the Frostmaiden. This is an adventure with themes of horror. As part of this there are secrets available to the PC for the adventure. Some of these secrets may influence your character’s background significantly. These secrets are not equally impactful. If you would like a secret for your character let me know, and how significant you want it to be, and I will give one to you either in person or by email.
Characters for this story will begin at 3rd level with the standard point buy or array. It would be helpful for one character to be proficient in Arcana, Survival, one in boats, and one with Handle Animals. I have blanket approval for the latest Unearthed Arcana on Feats and Alternate Class features. The newest Adventurer’s League guide has a preview of the legacies system that will be in the forthcoming Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything which allows you to move around the racial features, mostly attributes and prophecies. If there is something else that you’d like to use, ask, but I will probably say yes. The documents I mentioned are linked to below.
Characters for this story can be native to the Ten Towns or foreigners recently arrived, even a nomad from the clans who live in the great glacier itself. Every character can have a house in any of the Ten Towns, if it fits their story. The same goes for a small boat or even a dogsled … dogs are expensive to feed. Starting adventuring gear is stuff appropriate for your character (if it has a list price of over 150 gp, ask, but again I will probably say yes – it is just difficult to get high ticket price items here) and one healing potion.
