This is the beginning of character description. I will flesh him out further as I come up with it.
The Honorable Miles Evander Percy (born 1791) is a son of Algernon Percy, 1st Earl of Beverly (who was himself a younger son of the Duke of Northumberland). He was given all the advantages of his class, studying at Eton and Oxford where he earned his letters in the humane arts (specializing in history and literature). Unlike his elder siblings, he had no interest in politics or government service, preferring the life a dilettante gentleman about town. He was part of an experimental magical ritual at Oxford that was led by “Mad Shelley”. A strange mishap left all the participants injured and unconscious. None of them had any memory of what had happened after the “Moon disappeared”. A rift opened between Miles Percy and Percy Shelley because somehow Miles had ended up with the favor of Faerie and he had not.
On Earth-prime, the third child of Algernon Percy was still-born. In the world of the Unicorn club, his mother called on the powers of Faerie to protect her child after a difficult pregnancy, and the child was born fey touched. In his childhood, Miles was a wild child who gave his governess no end of trouble. He settled down somewhat after the Oxford ritual.
The Moon did not actually disappear during the Oxford ritual, but it appeared to do so from the perspective of the participants, who may have been transported to another dimension for a time.
