Aziraphale is a professor of history with a specialty in religious history from Cambridge. He appears to be in his late 20's to early 30's and wears a modern styled suit and tie with ruby colored glasses to hide his opalescent eyes, and possibly his college robes if he has just come from class. He has taken an interest in how the Fae have adapted to the world and has recently penned a thesis on Elves of the Feywild and Cultural Changes in Relation to the Modern World. Like most books comparing the English to other races of the time, the work is a bit one-sided.
If Cambridge provides living quarters for tenured unmarried staff, Aziraphale probably lives on the college grounds. He is know to drink tea, but abstains from most alcoholic beverages other than watered-down wine. He sings in the church choir and occasionally takes a turn at the pipe organ.
