I think we should start a talk about the Pathfinder changes so that GM's can have a chance to look at the things the players want to change about their characters.

I'm in the process of creating a new character for Saturday (Carnival).
I need to know how we're handling the skill points. I think I heard that we're following the Pathfinder method for the most part. However, I think I also remember something about adding in the Background points for Craft/Knowledge/Profession/Perform stuff. If so, how many points? The old 13/3 might be a bit high for the Pathfinder rules.
Also, John, if I use Background points to get Perform (Acrobatics) those should only go into the Perform skill & not the actual Acrobatics skill, right?
Also, the 2nd edition character sheet I have is for level 3. Are we still converting to level 3?

Background skill points are 3pts per level. As Pathfinder doesn't multiply skill points by four, the background points are also not multiplied.
Background skill points are to be spent on Craft, Profession, Linguistics, Perform, and Knowledge skills.

The three skills you choose as backgrounds at 1st level also count as class skills (so they get the +3 bonus).

In the conversion to Pathfinder, we are going back to hit points and doing away with wounds/vitality.
Death still comes at negative ten hit points but you can use a hero point to stabilize yourself.

Oh goody. That means the hours I spent making a new character sheet with that stuff on it was wasted.
What about the Defense Bonus stuff?

Forgot to ask on Saturday, how about the Weapons Groups from the 3.5 SRD?
Also, if I want to use a feat that is from the Complete Warrior book can I use it? They didn't put those in the 3.5 SRD and thus they aren't in Pathfinder either. The specific one I'm looking at is Ranged Disarm from CW p. 103 for Ash.

We don't need weapon groups, since the purpose was to give fighters bonuses to entire groups of weapons. Pathfinder gives them the power already, so we don't need them.
Ranged disarm should be fine. Talk to John for Carnival.
