Sharona
This world is the large moon of a super-jovian gas giant. The planet is about 8000 km in diameter and has a surface gravity of about 0.2 g. The atmosphere and lakes on the surface are full of naturally occuring hydrocarbons. The temperature is well below freezing and the atmosphere is thin and toxic. The scout who discovered the planet named it after his girlfriend, saying, "This planet's a cold-hearted bitch, just like Sharona."
About 1000 hydrocarbon miners and half as many support staff live on Sharona. They process hydrocarbons into nanotubes, bucky balls and other extremely useful carbon structures which they sell throughout the sector. Despite the harsh conditions and the presence of so much carbon smut, the inhabitants of Sharona are extremely wealthy and enjoy a very high standard of living, complete with imported meat, fresh vegetables and wines from Sonoma.
The downport is attached to the Sharona Compound. There is no highport.

Sharona is a Corporate System with Dominion status. While technically answerable to an ISS legate, corporate systems with no habitable world are treated differently. The ISS legate has the authority to review corporate policies and decisions and to act as a final appeal, but the ISS seldom interferes with corporations in their own system.
The local ISS legate is supported in the same lavish style as the stakeholders.
