Looks like it will be interesting to try. Not sure how the removal of "range touch" from spells will work out in practice. I was never fond of the idea of guns ignoring armor to begin with. Pathfinder was designed with differences in ACs and attacks from 5e. There may be unforeseen consequences. There's only one way to find out I'm game to give it a go. I'm not in favor of the wand healing being calculated differently than the same spell from other sources. I think they should all be treated the same. That will cut down on the complication of different calculations for each kind of healing and remembering which to use. Also, if going this route, you should decide on ALL forms of healing (Character/NPC/item (potions, items, etc)) not just the two listed so far. Also, what about the spells that heal but don't have "Cure" in their name? Not objecting, just think we should be consistent. My $0.02 worth at first blush...

I really like removing touch AC from the game. Any wizard spell that utilizes the maneuver subsystem (The Hand Spells, Telekinetic Manurer, Black Tentacles, etc.) already uses the caster's level in place of BAB, thous would just be closing the loop. As for the healing, I think that the casting of spells is more vital to a character than the use of a disposable magic item, so I like that someone is getting more for that use. I would rather use fewer of my spells healing and more of them doing Druid stuff, this is a slight preference and I can be persuaded either way on this issue. I was reading the unchained rules section. There is a way to remove a lot of the extra gold and magic items from the game. I don't really like walking around with the GDP of a nation in my bag of holding. The 'Automatic Bonus Progression" (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/other-rules/unchained-rules/automatic-bonus-progression/) in short a flaming sword is just that, a sword on fire and the plus of that sword is a function of character level. That way at higher levels we don't run into endless thugs with +1 equipment that we liquidate for gold. Automatic Bonus Progression makes some assumptions about how common stat bump items (the bane of my existence) are, that we may want to fiddle with. That said the star bumps associated with the ABP are enhancement bonuses, which do not stack with spells like Bull's Strength, for instance. It may be too out there, but I'd be game to try.

Hubert,
I do not see any problems with the house rules you have put forward.
Luke,
While I like the change in 5e concerning wealth and magic items, I don't want to put more work on Hubert (unless he wants to take the extra time) by advocating the switch to the Automatic Bonus Progression. I don't know how much work it would involve, but one of the benefits of running an adventure path, is the limited amount of work required to run it.
I am considering running (in the future) the Mummy's Mask adventure path, but converted to 5e. Again, it is Hubert's show so I will go along with whatever he decides to do.
Just my thoughts,
John

I think this is a good idea. I have been making versions of this character in 5e for a while now.

How much redesign leeway are you loooing for in the edition change. I know that Ken has an android player character race designed. I also know that Scott is not a fan of the Kenku in 5e, which may change his character. As for myself, I'd like to do a minor tweek and change from a human to a half orc, as that fits better with the rough and tumble outcast persona of Valder. Also, it is now a viable PC race.

I'm on board for the 5e change, and I'm reasonably sure Brandy is as well. I know she likes 5e far more than Pathfinder. As for the 5e Kenku, it's true that I'm not a fan, if only for the inability to speak original words.

Scott, I've been thinking about that. D&D's Kenku are not Pathfinder's Tengu, lore-wise. The session on Saturday will be shorter then usual because I can't bring myself to run combat under Pathfinder rules. We can discuss it then. But in short - build your character as a Kenku - but run him as a Tengu (no mimic only rules) in the game. Praise Bob!

Most of the house rules were to make it easier to run. With the conversion to Fifth Edition, they are no longer needed. If new rules need to be added - they will be discussed here.
