Jerome Exaverre
male, half-elf, fighter (champion)
Jerome Exaverre is a member of the noble Exaverre family of Neverwinter, but he's seldom found amongst their august company. His mother, Delia Exaverre, was the heir to the house, with a planned marriage into another important family, but she threw her future in jeopardy when she fled the marriage and ran off with her moon elf lover, Elthanis Moonshadow, a bard from Silverymoon. They had many adventurers, with her returning briefly to give birth to her only son. She arranged for his education and tutelage while she was away on adventures, but she never officially renounced her position in the family. When she died at Hellgate Keep, this left the family in a bit of a conundrum. Officially, her child Jerome is heir to the title, but her father, Lord Descary Exaverre, has always feared her wildness would be present in the boy. He has been outwardly supportive of his grandson, helping to fund his travels and such, but has been quietly grooming his sister's daughter, Amelise Quant-Exaverre to take over the family title and estates. He has been assuming that that young Jerome will get himself killed adventuring, an expected but not sought after outcome. Amelise, however, along with her husband, Gaston Kemper (a son of Delia's jilted fiancé), have taken matters into their own hands, hiring assassins to do him in. [Said assassins could somehow follow him into the Mists of Barovia.]
Jerome has a very good education. [Although not proficient in any specific knowledge skills, his INT of 14 gives him +2 with all knowledge skills.] He loves poetry, history and philosophy. He's also a bit of a rake. Devilishly handsome, he has quite a way with romantic interests. He's also overly fond of wine and partying. He seldom rises before noon, or goes to bed so long as a single public house has a light still on. When drinking, his mouth sometimes signs promissory notes his body cannot cash.
Jerome is very good with a sword, capable of brute force or finesse.
He is friendly and extremely sociable.
