With the defeat of Queen Ileosa deep in the Sunken Queen, Lille returned to Korvosa, a hero. She attended the ceremonies, the dinners and events that were given in honor of the Heroes of Korvosa. It was at one of these affairs that she met and fell in love with Sir Ribalt Malvesa. This charming and charismatic younger son of a noble house of Cheliax swept her off her feet. The wedding followed in a few months.
Trouble struck with the birth of Lille's child. Lille's daughter showed the signs of an infernal influence - the reddish skin, horn-nubs and slip of a tail of a tiefling. One of the two parents had a devilish taint. Relations became strained, accusations flew, and finally, Lille left the house in Korvosa to take to the road again. Guided by Desna and her dreams, Lille continues to wander the world. Sir Ribalt was left to raise their tiefling daughter. Left mostly to herself - the young tiefling named herself, 'Trouble'.
When the daughter was around eight years old, the accidental death of Ribalt's older brother, Thagile, made Riblat, the new Baron of Malvesa. The baron was unwilling to subject his tiefling daughter to the discrimination and prejudice of Cheliax society so he left her under the care of a local Iomedae chapter house before returning home. He hoped that the Iomedae clerics would be able to keep the young tiefling girl from falling into chaos and evil.
Now Trouble is 19, ordained as a paladin of Iomedae and starting to make her way in an uncaring world. She been alone since eight years of age, raised by a succession of uncaring governesses and teachers, bereft of her father who is in Cheliax and her mother who is out in the world, doing goddess-knows-what.
Trouble is 5’8”, with ruddy red skin, black hair and dark red eyes. A muscular girl, she hides her figure under chain mail and a tabard. Her governesses and teachers have taught her how to move and act in a high class society – although they doubted that as a tiefling, Trouble would ever use it. Trouble knows of the foibles, strengths and weaknesses of the local nobility. She might even know how to take advantage of such information.
Trouble has something of the noble’s obligation – to take care of and protect people. That is her ideal. From her paladin training, she feels a tie to her order, from her upbringing, a tie to the house of Malvesa and from herself – a tie to who she is.
In spite of her upbringing and the teachings of her Order of Iomedae, Trouble can be vengeful – quick to judge, quick to anger – and if you wrong her, she will repay it ten-fold.
In the long run, Trouble hopes that she can overcome her devilish background and become a shining paladin to the world.
