The Fall of the Naga’s Tower
So we’re standing over the body of the spirit naga in her room. Downstairs are still servants and nearby is a barracks of armed guards. We decide to leave the room and clear the rest of the floor – those servants had been laying the table for the spirit naga and her honored guests.
We begin with the door on the right. Marissa quietly opened the door to find a massive lizard folk and his two guards. That big lizard folk really dealt out damage so it was a good thing that Talos kept mocking him and reducing his chance to hit. While we’re finishing off the lizard folk, Devon’s quasit reported two fish men were approaching the room. As the big lizard folk champion dropped, the Kuo-Toa came up and ensnared Tessa with its man-catcher, Tessa Misty Stepped out of the way as the others piled into them. On the Kuo-Toa bodies, we found copper plates covered in Kuo-Toa writing.
On the other side of the hallway, we killed a group of Kobolds trying to break out of the building. On their bodies, we recovered correspondence between the spirit naga and a green dragon named Nox. He’s an ancient green dragon residing at the center of the island.
Going back downstairs, we find the lizard folk servants gathered. Talos showed that necklace of scutes taken from the spirit naga and told them they were now free of her domination. One of the servants told us that the Major Domo had gone to the barracks.
Outside, the spirit naga’s guards were mustering. Talos again showed them the captured scutes. The lizard folk guards immediately turned on other lizard folk and killed the spirit naga’s willing forces. We announced that we were returning to our encampment south – the lizard folk guards and servants decided to accompany us.
To ensure that the spirit naga would have a hard time recovering her power, we set fire to the spirit naga’s domicile and the barracks, leaving the compound’s well destroyed and tearing down the palisade. The spirit naga would return and we were powerless to stop it.
One old lizard folk told us of a story from long ago. Apparently, the serpent folk god once taught his people the secret of breaking the cycle and destroying the spirit naga forever. This knowledge has been lost to the ages as today's’ serpent folk no longer remember the story. Upon our return to the lizard folk encampment, we decide to enroll the lizard folk in mapping the former serpent folk ruins, Perhaps, we will find the answer on some serpent folk wall from long ago.
