By Hippogryph to Greywall
After the feast and celebration that marked Orrel becoming a full Gatekeeper druid, we discussed out travel plans. At first, we needed to head to the village of Patrahk’n on the shores of Blackwater Lake. It would take two days on foot. From Patrahk’n, we can catch hippogryphs into Droam. Torbrand had the Brazen Eye of the Hag; it marks us as having the favor of Droam.
The first part of the journey was uneventful. The evening of the first day was disturbing as our initial site for a camp near a pond turned out to the hunting grounds for a large hydra. We decided to move a bit further down the trail to a different camp site.
Around evening of the second day, we caught sight of Patrahk’n lying by the shores of a huge lake. A goblin on a hippogryph descended and landed near us as we took in the view. The goblin named himself as Churah and told us that he had been sent by a Voice of Katrah who had been waiting for us. In the village, we were escorted to a harpy with a broach. She introduced herself as Arlina and told us that fast passage through Droam by hippogryphs had been arranged. The Daughters of Sora Kell were glad to be of help in closing and resealing the Gate and would we please let Breland know. Furthermore, a hut was set aside in Patrahk’n for us before flying tomorrow.
In the morning, Churah and Arlina woke us and took us to the hippogryphs. The harpy took the Brazen Eye from Torbrand and handed us each a token. This token marks us as traveling under the protection of the Daughters of Sora Kell. Furthermore, we would be given a contact in Sharn we could use for magical assistance in resealing the gate. Then we mounted our hippogryphs and took off, escorted by Churah.
In Thrakelorn, we changed hippogryphs and eat lunch. By evening, we flew into the Great Crag. This is the capital of Droam, built into the caldera of an ancient volcano. For the night’s rest, we got a real inn with a common room and actual beds. Trouble was surprised by the number of tieflings she saw in the streets of the Great Crag.
In the morning, Churah woke us and led us to our hippogryphs. Our next leg of the journey took us to the fortress city of Greywall. Although this city was in Droam, we saw more humans in the city. Waving goodbye to Churah and his hippogryphs, we decided to go to the local House Orien to book passage to Sharn with one of their elemental coaches. Before he left, Churah suggested that we talk to Duun, a minotaur on the docks of Sharn. Duun would help us find the casters we need to reseal the gate.
Another night’s stay in another real inn with food and beds, we boarded the elemental coach for our two day’s journey to Sharn.
