We will begin this chronicle with a session 0 to build characters. Just post character ideas, like race, background, etc... until then.

All characters will be coming from the somewhat ill defined main continents. No one is native to Freeport or the Serpent's Teeth.

It is my intention to begin running the game as soon as character creation is done, so it would be nice if people had some idea what they wanted to play.

An Atryan noble on the run from his family. (Human rogue or warrior). An Orc-blood mercenary thirsting for adventure. A goblin-blood tinker looking for lost family. An elven healer mage looking for lost lore.

Here are a few ideas I had...
Silas Burkeholt, human, from Castria. Mage. He is a sword mage on the run from a powerful family in Castria. He killed the eldest son of the family. The eldest son was a blood thirsty werewolf but that didn’t matter to his family. A friend warned him before the hammer came down and realizing he had no evidence to support his claim, he couldn’t stick around. He made his way to a ship and headed to Freeport to start over.
Zayd Sadiq, human, from Markesh. Envoy. He is a merchant coming to Freeport to distance himself from his family’s slavery business. In truth, he is an escaped slave who killed and stole a Markesh merchant’s stuff and used it to come to Freeport. He is a trained musician and performer.
Cressydous ‘Syd’ Blackwell, elf-blood, from Sylaria. Rogue. He is escaping his grandfather’s prejudice for being of mixed blood. He decided no one knows him in Freeport. He managed to learn a little magic before he left, as he would have the Arcane Disciple talent.
Rion, human, from Rhodasha. Warrior. After earning his freedom from indentured servitude, he decided he would use his blade to forge his own way and he would start in Freeport.
Radu Endovar, human, from Atrya. Envoy. A skilled sailor, he participated in many battles for Atryan warlocks. After receiving an order he could not stomach, he fled. He hopes to forge a better path for himself and Freeport is the first step.

These are my two favorite concepts right now. Omar Brasstusk – Orcblood Warror Omar hones his fighting skills in Atryan slave pits. He fought for the entertainment of his masters and his promised freedom was always just out of reach. He belonged to the gladiatorial stable of the powerful Tevizch family who keep many Orcbloods for their sadistic delights. Omar was mentored by several of the older Orcbloods who have kept alive the traditions of their clans, including Borborqua, who was the shaman of a great clan captured by the Atryan army 50 years ago. Just over a month before the chronicle begins there was a grand festival at the manse of the Tevizch family. During the blood rite to the Lord of Dis, Borborqua staged a revolt. The slaves attempted to slay their masters, but they failed. In the chaos Omar chose to escape, rather than throw his lot in with the revolt – a deed for which he feels a great deal of guilt. He has made his way to Freeport to start his life anew, one step ahead of the slave hunters. Dak Faden – Goblinblood Rogue Dak is a gunsmith from the mainland, from a middle class family. His upbringing was remarkably free from drama or strife. Then came the fire. The Faden family powderworks was set ablaze by a stray bolt of lightning taking with it much of the Faden family fortune with it. Dak is searching for distant cousins with a hope to rebuild his family fortunes in Freeport.

Sounds good to me. You know my feeling on niche protection. It's not important at all. I can run a game where everyone is a mage, or where no one is. My demographic tables contain no half-races. If people want to play them, they can, but unless I change all my tables and demographics, they are rare in the world as a whole. Or maybe they're just included in the statistics how they identify. Some half-elves may identify as elves and others as humans. We can discuss it if it becomes an issue.

Cassander Aldonis Human (theran) Mind Mage and empathic healer. Cassander is a scholar and he has been enchanted by the ancient secrets of the Serpent’s Teeth since he was a young boy. As a gifted mind mage he led a sheltered life in the high society of Castria. His mother, the powerful Livia Aldonis had a life planned out for young Cassander including a marriage and children for the good of the bloodline and family. It was to be that he was to marry and have children with the other empathic healer known to be of good theran stock, Emarra Kolchis, even though she is more than twice his age and of ill temper and is considered to be a selfish shrew with a personality more harsh than her face. Upon the evening of his betrothal feast, Cassander decided that he could not go through with his marriage after all. Within a week he was out of the city and on a ship bound for Freeport – purse empty but a heart full of hope.
